| I have been privileged to grow up playing golf at Dundas Valley. Like a lot of other young golfers in the Dundas area, I learned how to play on the short course, which was invaluable for my development as a youngster. Lots of beginner golfers today learn on a driving range, but they only learn how to play "golf swing". Having such a unique setup that we do at Dundas allows kids to learn to "play golf", which I think has a great deal to do with the fact that I now play professionally. Learning the game, as opposed to just how to swing, has been fundamental in my development into a touring professional. The "long course" itself has been a great home for me over the last decade as well. While not overly long by modern standards, the course tests my game in ways a modern track cannot. We get to experience so many different lies, contours and shots at Dundas that the course is never the same day to day. I have to think that our terrain at Dundas is similar to a links course in that the ground almost has a life of it's own. You can never be bored playing DV...the rolling fairways and small greens always keep me on my toes!! I count myself lucky to have grown up at one of the great traditional golf courses, and will always call Dundas Valley my home.
